If you are uncomfortable with turning over your credit/debit cards to total strangers, then by all means pay with cash. Most credit/debit card companies will place a hold on your card if they see charges coming on your card from another state or country. To prevent this from happening, always let your credit company know when and where you are traveling. Honestly, I like the hold on my card, until I get back.
